Imagine an America where we had the same President over and over, term after term. Sounds like a bad idea right? Well in early January of 2009 Rep. José Serrano, a New York Democrat, had proposed a congressional House resolution to make an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.
There are countries or nation states that have changed their constitutions to allow unlimited runs for top public offices…hence we have Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Comrade Bob Mugabe, and Manuel Zelaya. History has shown us that this process does not work out well for the people of these nations.
Much on the internet about this bill sounds like a conspiracy theory digest written by Dan Brown, but the truth is this political ideology is real. History proves that without a doubt. There are many people in the political world that think that this is a good idea. Some would even go as far to say that President Obama himself supports this process and intends to bring it to the United States of America. Obama’s recent criticisms of the defenders of the Honduran constitution and then support for Zelaya and his Marxist dictator allies would only seem to support that theory.
Some political strategists would have you believe that a dictatorship like this would never happen in America. And 20 years ago I would have agreed with them. However, this is a new era, and a new generation at the helm now. As unimaginable as it sounds, there are events that appear to be slowly falling into place to make this a real possibility. It’s important to take a hard look at how the political left is working to consolidate power within the United States and secure all elements of our great country. They are moving fast and in multiple directions. It has not even been a full year yet and already our new Democrat President and his Democrat controlled Congress are starting to show their true colors by reviving talk about the Fairness Doctrine, trying to pass legislation to limit or restrain gun ownership, putting the US under control of an International Court system, taking control of the census and vigorously trying to come up with a passable legislation to grant illegal aliens voting status, knowing full well that they tend to vote Democrat a majority of the time.
Conspiracy theories aside, what is happening now sounds a lot like what conservative talk show host/author Mark Levin says is a soft tyranny. History and the people of this great nation will be the ultimate judge. The question is will we wait until the damage is already done, like the Hitler era Germans did? Or will we be proactive and educate ourselves about what is coming and make those critical decisions to avoid tyranny?
Definition: Tyranny - a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition).

What we really need is term limits for Congress. That will never happen though because congress is the only entity that could establish it. I wish we had initiative and referendum and the federal level.
